William Parsons (1909-1982)

William Parsons was born in Toronto in 1909. He studied at the Ontario College of Art under G.A. Reid, J.E.H. MacDonald, Arthur Lismer, and J.W. Beatty, graduating in 1930. Parsons then found work at a display advertising firm while also producing artwork for the Canadian National Exhibition. Parsons produced a number of landscape paintings, choosing as his subjects the countryside of Haliburton, Algonquin Park, and Northern Ontario. Parsons later moved to Newmarket, Ontario and joined the Newmarket Art Club. He died in 1982.
