Walter Bachinski (b. 1939)

Walter Bachinski was born in 1939 in Ottawa. He received his initial training at the Ontario College of Art (now OCAD), studying under Frederick Hagan, before moving on to a Master’s at the University of Iowa. Following his studies, Bachinski took up teaching at the University of Guelph, where he remained until his retirement in 1994. Bachinski traveled extensively throughout his career, studying mural work in Mexico as well as 19^th and 20^th century masterpieces in France and America. His early work was in printmaking, later working in sculpture in the 1970s. Bachinski currently resides in Shanty Bay, Ontario, where he works on his art.
