Tony Tascona (b. 1926)

Tony Tascona was born in Manitoba in 1926. He studied at the Winnipeg School of Art, following which he worked with the Canadian Aerospace Industries to support his artistic career. It was through his work with the CAI that Tascona became interested in plastics, metals, and lacquers as artistic materials. He later moved to Montreal, where he met artists Guido Molinari and Claude Tousignant. Tascona continued exhibiting throughout the 1980s and served on the Board of Trustees at the National Gallery of Canada in the late 90s.
