Senen Ubina

Senen Ubina (1921-2012)

Senen Ubina was born in Spain in 1921. He moved to New York City in 1955. He won many accolades, including the Gold Medal at the 1984 Biennale in Alexandria, Egypt. He also exhibited at The Spanish Pavilion at The Biennale in Venice, Italy in 1962 and 1968. In 1968, Ubina was decorated with The Order of Isabella the Catholic (Orden de Isabel la Catolica), a civil order granted in recognition of exceptional services that benefit the country of Spain. His work is held within the collections of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Modern Art Museum in Madrid, and the Museum of Art in Houston.
