Robert Ford Gagen (1847-1926) RCA, OSA

Robert Ford Gagen was an English-born Canadian artist, best known for his seascapes and landscapes. Gagen favoured painting the Maritime Provinces and the St. Lawrence River, studying the shore of the Lawrence in Quebec, as well as in Maine and Massachusetts. He was one of the founding members of the Ontario Society of Artists and the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour. Gagen died in Toronto in 1926.
