Manly Edward MacDonald (1889-1971) ARCA, OSA
Manly Edward MacDonald was born in Point Anne, Ontario. MacDonald showed early promise as an artist and received his early training under Ernest Fosbery, William Paxton, and Philip Hale. MacDonald later enrolled at the Ontario College of Art (now OCAD) and continued his studies under J.W. Beatty. MacDonald traveled internationally and exhibited at Wembley (England), the 1939 World's Fair in New York, and Laing Fine Art Galleries (Toronto). His work is held within the collections of the National Gallery of Canada, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the London Art Museum, and elsewhere.
