Louis Muhlstock

Louis Muhlstock (1904-2001)

Louis Muhlstock was born in Narajow, Austria-Hungary and immigrated to Montreal in 1911. He studied art alongside William Brymner and Maurice Cullen before traveling to Paris to continue his studies there. Muhlstock later permanently settled in Montreal and became known for his landscapes and urban scenes of the city. He was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1990.
