Collection: Kathleen Munn
Kathleen Jean Munn (1887-1974)
Kathleen Munn was born in Toronto, where she studied with F. McGillivray Knowles. Munn later continued her studies at the New York Art Students' League and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Upon her return to Toronto, Munn became renown for her pencil drawings of religious subjects, a theme she shared with Bertram Brooker, whose evening lectures she frequented. She was recognized as one of Canada's earliest modernists. Her work is represented within the collections of the Art Gallery of Ontario and other institutions.
