John Stanley Walsh

John Stanley Walsh (1907-1994)

John Stanley Walsh was a Canadian painter born in Brighton, England. He studied at the Central School of Art in London, as well as the Birmingham School of Art. Walsh later immigrated to Montreal, where he quickly established a reputation for himself as a painter of Montreal urban scenes. Walsh painted with Leopold Masson and Arthur Lismer. His work is held within the collections of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and the National Gallery of Canada.
