Collection: Isabel McLaughlin

Isabel McLaughlin (1903-2002) CGP, OSA

Isabel McLaughlin was born in Oshawa, Ontario in 1903 and is best known today for her landscapes and still life work. She had ties to the Group of Seven, including Arthur Lismer, with whom she studied at the Ontario College of Art (now OCAD). She later co-founded the Art Students’ League, a school initiated by Lismer’s students, which was also attended by Lawren Harris, A.Y. Jackson, Bertram Brooker, Frances Loring, and Florence Wyle. McLaughlin’s work is held within the collection of the National Gallery of Canada.
