Florence Wyle (1881-1968) RCA, OSA

Florence Wyle was a Canadian-American artist, recognized as a pioneer in Canadian arts and sculpture along with her lifetime partner, Frances Loring. She was the first woman sculptor to become a full member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Artists (RCA). Wyle and Loring worked primarily in Toronto, where they shared a studio for nearly sixty years. Together they championed for living wages and improved policies for artists.
