Doris McCarthy RCA (1910-2010)

Doris McCarthy was a Calgary-born Canadian artist. She studied at the Ontario College of Art and soon became a teacher at Central Tech in downtown Toronto from 1933 to 1972. McCarthy spent the majority of her life in Scarborough, travelling to various countries to paint. However, she is best known for her Canadian and Arctic landscapes. McCarthy’s work is held within the collection of the National Gallery of Canada.
