Annemarie Slipper, née Teuscher (1932-2018)

Annemarie Slipper was born in New York in 1932. She grew up in Montreal, where she studied painting at McGill University. Slipper married and had children before getting divorced and moving to Toronto, where she began studying ceramics and met fellow artist Gary Slipper. The two married and traveled, working together; Annemarie began sculpting the heads of the people in Slipper's paintings. The two moved to San Miguel in 1988, where they spent the rest of their lives together.
