Anne Meredith Barry (1932-2003) RCA

Anne Meredith Barry was a Toronto-born artist known for her landscape paintings and prints, which often incorporated bold colour and patterns. Barry attended and later graduated from the Ontario College of Art (now OCAD) in 1954, following which she took up painting full-time. In 1971, Barry went to Newfoundland to spend the summer teaching at Conception Bay under a residency with Outport Arts Foundation. Barry often returned to Newfoundland and eventually moved there with her husband. In 1995 she was elected a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.
