Alison Newton

Alison Newton (1890-1967)

Alison Newton was born in Leith, Scotland. She studied at Trinity Academy in Edinburgh before immigrating to Canada with her family in 1910. Newton found employ working as an illustrator for the renown T. Eaton Company, and later continued her studies under Franz Johnston, Walter J. Phillips, LeMoine Fitzgerald, and Alexander Musgrove, among other noted artists. Newton died in Toronto in 1967.
